Refried beans

Introduction

Ingredients

    2 15 oz cans of pinto beans
    1/2 onion
    4 tsp bacon grease
    1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

Pour beans in a pot and add 2 cans of water, cover and boil on med-high for 15 minutes.

While beans are boiling, cook chopped onions in lard or oil (i prefer bacon grease for flavor) until translucent

Strain the beans (saving the pot of bean water) into the skillet and stir with a ladle while also mashing it. Keep doing this for 10 minutes.

Add bean water as necessary for consistency.

Garnish with mozzarella cheese.
