1/4 c. olive oil 4 T. flour 1 c. vegetable broth 1 c. almond milk 2 c. sliced baby portabello mushrooms Real Salt and Granulated Garlic to taste
Combine olive oil and flour in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring with a whisk until combined and there are no lumps. Add remaining ingredients except mushrooms, whisking to combine. Cook about 5 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken. Add Real Salt and garlic powder to taste. Add sliced mushrooms (or diced, if you prefer) and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until mushrooms are soft.
Note: If you're not a strict vegetarian, you can use beef broth instead of vegetable broth for a more "authentic" flavor.
Makes 3 3/4-cup servings. Serve over pasta, vegetables or brown rice.
