Kicked up a notch reduced calorie Jimmy Dean Sausage gravy (2% Milk)

Introduction

Old fashion sausage gravy with a kick. I once read "what warms you up, slims you down", the cayenne pepper does just that. enjoy over Pillsbury IQF Biscuits. 1/3 cup works well for each biscuit split in 1/2. Ingredients

8 oz Jimmy Dean sausage regular, 16 oz
    2 tbsp Bacon fat, rendered
1 tsp Pepper, red or cayenne
    1-1/2 cups 2% Milk,
    1-1/2 cups tap water
    1/3c All-Purpose Flour

Directions

In a separate bowl, combine flour, and spices together. Brown Sausage in Skillet ( I personally use my electric), when brown pull to one side and add the bacon fat to the other side, add the flour mixture to the fat to make a rue (kind of dry one). bring sausage and rue together and mix well. Add milk, water and bring to a boil, simmer until desired thickness is achieved. Serve over biscuits. makes 14 -1/3 cup servings; enough for 1 split Pillsbury IQF Biscuit.
