Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    * *Hunt's - Classic Italian, Zesty & Spicy Spaghetti Sauce (.5 Cup, 126g /Serving), large can (26.5oz.)
    canned diced tomatos, any flavor
    * Ground beef, extra lean 6 oz
    * *wheat spagghetti, 8 oz
    * SAFEWAY ITALIAN SAUSAGE, one LINK,
    fresh mushrooms, 1/2 cup, or a small can of mushrooms, rinsed to remove salt

Directions

brown the beef and sausage link. Crumble the beef and slice the sausage in half lengthwise. Slice both halves into thin bits.Put into crock pot with a whole large can Hunt's Italian Pasta sauce. I usually use Italian sausage flavor, but any flavor will work.
Add a 15 oz. can diced tomatos, any flavor. We like the one with green chiles. add half a cup sliced fresh mushrooms, or a 4 oz. can of sliced mushrooms, drained and rinsed. Cook on low at least 2 hours, or up to eight. You can heat it on the stove and simmer for 30 minutes instead of using crock pot if you wish.
Prepare the pasta as directed. Serve1 to 1 and a half cups of sauce over a full cup of pasta per adult. serves 4 to 6. Calorie count is figured for 4 servings of 1 1/2 cups each.
Any remaining sauce makes a wonderful quick base for vegetable soup! Just add your choice of veggies and low sodium no fat broth.
