My kids love this and ask me to make it for them on special occasions.. Originally I got the recipe from my mom

(can do half pork + half veal, if you prefer)
Can be : American or Asian dinner

My kids love this and ask me to make it for them on special occasions.. Originally I got the recipe from my mom

Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    6 tbsp. olive oil
    3# pork, cubed boneless (cut --for c.suey)
    1# sliced mushrooms
    2 cups thinly sliced onions
    2 cups thinly sliced celery
    4.5 cups water
    6 tbsp. soy sauce ( I use the reduced sodium (Tamari)
    2 (cans) 14.5 oz. bean sprouts
    6 tbsp. cornstarch
    2/3 cup water
    2 tsp.salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 2 tsp. ginger

    On the side, cook, Hot rice and dry chow mein noodles, should be toasted.

    10 servings/ 1 cup, 2 oz per serving = 7 points plus value

    Makes 13 cups

Directions

Brown meat and mushrooms in olive oil (or another oil), stirring frequently. Add onion, celery, s+p, and ginger, hot water and bouillon cubes (6 gr for 1/2 lg one/use 3 halves)
Bring to a boil , then simmer for 40 minutes. Drain bean sprouts.
Then ,add soy sauce and well drained bean sprouts.
Bring to a boil, about 340 degrees and thicken with cornstarch and water.
Cook until thickened. Then simmer 10 minutes longer at 220 degrees.

Serve with rice and chow mein noodles.

(add in the amount of rice or noodles you plan to use, seperately from the chop suey for your point plus value.)
