Introduction

Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    2 cups canned garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed or make homemade beans
    1/3 cup tahini
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    1 TB Tamari or soy sauce
    3 cloves garlic, halved
    1 pinch paprika
    1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley

Directions

1.Place the garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, tamari and garlic in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Transfer mixture to a serving bowl.
2. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
Calories are per Tablespoon, you can add liquid to reduce the calories and make the hummus thinner.
Very flexible basic recipe. You can decrease the calories by adding in other kinds of veggies ie spinach, roasted rep peppers, tomatoes, etc. Also can use just about any white bean in place of the garbanzo beans.
