1 (15 oz.) can garbanzos, rinsed, and drained
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup quick oatmeal (not instant)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon ground or rubbed sage
1 teaspoon salt
* Fry on both sides in an oiled frying pan. Cover part of the time so that the onion steam cooks thoroughly.
* To minimize fat, these patties may be baked in the oven: Line a cookie sheet with baking parchment paper and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes (flip burgers halfway through the baking time).
*Serve on hamburger buns with ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, tomato, sliced onion, etc...
*Makes 8 servings, 1 burger each
*These freeze well!
