Low Fat Apple Pie

Low Fat Apple Pie

Introduction

Very good and Low Calorie Very good and Low Calorie
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    9inch pie plate

    one 9oz box of Jiffy Pie Crust Mix
    5 Medium Apples (thinly sliced)
    Cinnamon to taste
    Splenda no calorie sweetener to taste
    Corn Starch to thicken

    you can also add just a light dusting of Nutmeg over the apples if you like

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Mix Jiffy pie crust per directions on box to make two crusts

Put one crust into a 9inch pie plate

lay a layer of apples then sprinkle with cinnamon, splenda, and corn starch

add another layer of apples and repeat until pan is full

Sprinkle with cinnamon, splenda, and corn starch

Gently lay 2nd pie crust on top and seal edges
cut small slits in top crust to vent

sprinkle top with cinnamon and splenda

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes then reduce temperature to 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes

enjoy a delicious home made pie without the guilt!

  • This was so good. I just used a little splenada (1.5 packet), next time i will use a tiny real sugar. Thanks for the great recipe. It was good and not too sweet, just a hint of apple sweet. - 7/27/12

  • this was great my hubby loves apple pie and so do i but i dont like the fat he said he could not tell the diffenrce and ask me to make another as he walking around the house with the pan tin i used the pilsbuary already made crust i even had a pice left to give to my bestie for taking me to the dr - 11/14/11

  • Simply the best apple pie i've ever had. Definitely no need for butter. I made it one day in advances and let it cool on the fridge. The flavor gets better overnight and is also so much easier to cut after you let it rest. This is the pie I will be making from now on!!!!!!!
