Ingredients

    3 cups whole milk
    1/4 cup cornstarch
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    3 squares unsweetened baking chocolate

Directions

Makes 6 1/2 cup servings.
1. Scald 2 2/3 cups of the milk.
2. Put chocolate squares in milk to melt. Stir constantly.
3. Mix cornstarch, sugar, and salt in separate bowl.
4. Add to remaining 1/3 cup milk.
5. When chocolate is melted, add cornstarch, milk, salt, and milk mixture to chocolate and milk on stove.
6. Stir and cook until blended and thick.
7. Remove from stove. Add vanilla extract.
