I made 4 big cups, just because Apple Crisp is my favorite dessert. This recipe could make about 8 slices in a pie, so you can cut your calories in half.
5 Small Granny Smith Apples
2 Tbsp. of sugar (I used splenda)
1 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 cup of light brown sugar
1/4 cup of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of uncooked rolled oats
1 Tbsp. of butter (I used smart balance spread)
Combine the apples, cinnamon, sugar and in a medium bowl and combine.
Place this apple mixture aside in a baking dish.
Next, mix together the oats, brown sugar, flour in a medium sized bowl Blend in the butter and mix until the butter is well combined.
Sprinkle the above topping onto the apple mixture evenly and pop it into the oven.
Bake until the topping is crispy and the apples are tender, which should take around 50 to 60 minutes.
Once done, let it cool on rack for at least half an hour before serving.
