Savory Rice

Number of Servings: 10


    3 cups dry rice
    water to cook rice
    1/2 onion chopped fine
    1/2 red pepper chopped small
    Chives, chopped
    1/3 cup margarine or butter (or 2 Tablespoons olive oil)
    4 tablespoons basil
    4 tablespoons oregano
    pepper to taste


Saute onion, chives, red pepper, oregano, basil and black pepper in margarine.

Put 3 cups of rice and appropriate water to cook rice as normal into rice cooker. Add sauteed items and stir. Start rice cooker and cook as normal.
