IntroductionI used to eat soy sausage patties for breakfast all the time. I can't find any I like here in the UK, so I came up with my own and they taste great! I used to eat soy sausage patties for breakfast all the time. I can't find any I like here in the UK, so I came up with my own and they taste great!
1 Cup water
1 Vegetable stock cube
1/3 tsp ground thyme
1/3 tsp ground sage
1/4 tsp Onion powder
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Ground oregano
1/4 tsp Ground basil
1 Cup dry textured vegetable protein (TVP)
2 Medium eggs
1/4 Cup bread crumbs
1 Tbsp Vegetable oil
Let mixture sit for 5 mins. Form patties (extra may be frozen). Fry up (about 3 minutes per side, till nicely browned) and enjoy! Patties will be soft, so turn gently.

These were excellent! I added red pepper flakes because it's not sausage flavor to me without red pepper flakes. Also, I didn't add oil to them because I thought the oil was for frying them (the recipe didn't mention mixing it in)...but these patties definitely needed oil mixed in. Still tasty! - 2/9/13
WOW!!!! this is my first time trying TVP. Have wanted more vegetarian in my life, have to be gluten free(no wheat products) couldn't eat the veg burgers in the grocery. Made this with Gluten Free bread crumbs (food processed dried gluten free bread from the grocery) and gluten free broth! Delicious! - 1/9/13

I just made a batch this afternoon and put them in the freezer so I can treat myself when I have a fancy. Hope you enjoy these.
