Ingredients

    28 oz can tomato puree, tutterosso
    28 oz crushed tomatoes, tutterosso
    28 oz peeled plum tomatoes, tutterosso
    12 oz tomato paste, contadina
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    2 Tbls dried parsley flakes
    1/2 Tbls dried oregano
    1/2 Tbls. dried basil
    3 whole bay leaves
    1/2 Tbls sugar
    1 tsp. Accent (seasoning)
    4 Tbls. light olive oil
    3 Tbls. minced garlic

Directions

Set crock pot on high. Add all large cans of tomatoes together in crock pot. Add seasonings.
In frying pan, add olive oil and wram up. Add garlic. After about 2 minutes or you start to smell the garlic cooking, add tomato paste. Cook until heated and starts to get dark.
Add to crock pot, stir together. After about 2 hours turn down to low and stir occasionally for about 6 hours.
You can add meatballs and sausge that have been baked in the oven at 350 for 30 mins after sauce has been cooking for 4 hours.

Makes 28 1/2 cup servings of sauce.
You need to figure out your meatball and sausage equivants separately.

    Maybe this was added later, but the instructions area clearly states each serving is 1/2 cup.
    Also, since there are 3 cans of tomato ingredients @ 28oz each, when you divide by 28 servings you get 3oz/serv not 1 & the paste, seasonings & oil will add some too. - 3/15/08

  • I would calculate about 1 oz per serving... since there is 28oz of each tomato ingredients / 28 servings = 1 oz each...

    Hi, I've been away for awhile of strict dieting, but have lost some weight.
    Have you tried the sauce? I hope if you did that you enjoyed it. I make it all the time. The only sauce the boys will eat.
