These were great! My first batch came out a bit chewy, so I turned up the temp on my waffle maker and cooked the next batch a bit longer and they were more crisp.
They were really sweet as is, so I had mine with just a little butter spread on them and they were delish. Kids loved them too. - 6/13/11

WOW!! I loved this recipe! I used Vanilla Almond milk instead of milk and only had cinnamon applesauce so used that. They were delish! My son noticed the cinnamon but liked it and I ate mine with natural peanut butter spread on it and folded it like a sandwich. This is a definite make again! - 11/5/10

My boys (2 and 6 years old) gave these a thumbs up!!! Replaced a few things based on what we had in the house -- whole wheat flour, rice milk (dairy intolerance), 4 oz mixed berry applesauce (skipped the extra sugar), added 1 tbsp. flax seed meal. I already ate, so will have to try another time! - 6/6/10

Cooked these a couple of times already, love it. Tastes sweet, crispy out the waffle iron, gets soft after a few minutes. The correct serving size 3 (not 4) (3 large waffles). Usually we mix the ingredients for double amount, and store in fridge for next day. Add drops of milk if dough gets thick. - 5/27/13

I was drawn to this by simple ingredients. We liked but found them to be very sweet, perhaps because I used almond milk & 1/4 cup of meal from making homemade milk. I left them in the machine a bit longer to reduce the moisture. Will try fruit topping instead of Maple Syrup next time. Will make again. - 3/31/13
