Pat's Slow-Cooker Lasagna

Introduction

I took my basic lasagna recipe that I've made for years and modified it. This one cuts down considerable on the number of noodles and substitutes Italian Seasoned ground turkey for ground Italian sausage. This one cuts down considerable on the number of noodles and substitutes Italian Seasoned ground turkey for ground Italian sausage.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 pkg Italian Seasoned ground turkey (19.2 oz)
    2 tsp. olive oil
    2-3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 jar good pasta sauce
    6 no-boil lasagna noodles
    16 oz part skim ricotta cheese
    1 egg
    1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. dried oregano
    1/4 cup dried parsley
    1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
    1 tsp salt
    1 1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Directions

Brown turkey in olive oil with garlic. Mix ricotta cheese with egg, spices, and Parmesan cheese. In the slow cooker, start with 1/3rd of the turkey, top with 2 lasagna noodles (broken in half), dot with 1/3rd the ricotta cheese mixture, 1/3rd sauce and sprinkle with 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese. Repeat for two additional layers. Cook on low heat 3-4 hours.
