Peanut Butter Cookies, Old Fashioned

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon milk
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons sugar
Directions
Cream butter and peanut butter; gradually add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and milk, beating well.
Combine flour, soda, and salt in a medium bowl, add to creamed mixture, beating well. Stir in vanilla. Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours. Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls; place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Dip a fork in 2 teaspoons of sugar, and flatten cookies in a crisscross pattern.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool. Yields: 6 dozen cookies.
