Grandma used to call it "Johnny Cake". "Corn bread," she said, "does not have sugar". Seems she grew up in Missouri, eating cornbread, but my grandpa grew up in northwestern Ohio, eating Johnny Cake. Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:
1 ¼ c flour
¾ c. corn meal
¼ c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
½ t. salt
Wet Ingredients:
1 c. milk
¼ c. vegetable oil
1 egg
Directions
1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Spray square baking dish with cooking spray.
3. Combine all dry ingredients.
4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just until moist.
5. Pour into pan and bake 20-25 min.
