Heat oven to 350ºF. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, turkey sausage, egg, 1/2 can tomato sauce, basil, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper; mix well. On a 15- x 10-inch jelly roll pan, shape mixture into a 10- x 6-inch loaf. Spread remaining tomato sauce over top. Bake for 1 hour or until no longer pink in center and internal temperature of loaf reaches 165ºF. Let stand at room temperature 5 minutes before slicing. Makes 8 servings.
My family loved the extra flavor from the Italian sausage. I baked it on a foil covered baking sheet instead of in the loaf pan, so that the drippings ran off instead of saturating the bottom, and cranked the heat up to 450 for the last 10 minutes to get a nice "crust." Fantastico! :D
