Submitted by: CONQUERGRAVITY

Introduction

I used this to use up some left over apples I had - it's a great tastey snack! I used this to use up some left over apples I had - it's a great tastey snack!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    5-6 apples, sliced into wedges
1/4 cup of nuts of your choice (can be omitted)
    teaspoon cinnamon (or to taste)
    teaspoon nutmeg (or to taste)
    teaspoon ginger (or to taste)
1/4 cup apple juice or cider

Directions

preheat the oven to 365.

place sliced apples in a baking pan. mix together spices and juice. pour over apples and toss to coat apples evenly.

Cover pan with tinfoil (this is essential to make sure apples don't get dried out). Place in the oven.

Bake for 20 minutes, or until apples are soft.

Makes about 5-7 servings. I like to just sort of pick at it cold when I need a snack, so my serving measurements aren't exact.

  • The flavor of these was amazing, but I would suggest cooking them a little bit longer than called for, they were still pretty firm. - 11/1/08

  • I used raisins instead of nuts... found the recipe in the Brownie Girl Scout Try-It book, under the "Make It, Eat It" Try-it. It was great, and my 6yr old prepared them herself :) - 1/13/08
