Quiche, Cheese (Bacon optional)

Introduction

This is a variation I have developed which seems to be creamier and raises a bit higher than traditional quiche. This is a variation I have developed which seems to be creamier and raises a bit higher than traditional quiche.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 pie crust 9"
    1 can Carnation Evaporated non-fat milk
    1/4 c 2% milk (more or less)
    1 cup Mozzerella cheese, shredded
    (1/2 cup Monterrey Jack Cheese, shredded) optional
    8 slices pre-cooked Hormel bacon, crumbled OR use Turkey bacon (Leave out if vegetarian)
    8 medium to large eggs
    1/4 t nutmeg, (more or less for your taste)
    1/4 c finely chopped red onion (more or less for your taste)
    1/4-1/2 t ground pepper

Directions

Preheat oven 425 degree F. Lay out pie crust in pie pan. Beat by hand eggs and milks in medium bowl. Layer bacon, onion, cheese, nutmeg, and pepper onto pie crust. Add milk/egg mixture. Bake for 15 minutes at 425. Then cover edge of crust with foil to keep from browning to dark. Lower heat to 300/310 degree F and cook for 30 more minutes.
