Easy, quick and wonderful with baked potatoes and a veggie on the side for guests. Got the recipe yesterday, served it last night, and our guest wanted the recipe! Good sign. :) Easy, quick and wonderful with baked potatoes and a veggie on the side for guests. Got the recipe yesterday, served it last night, and our guest wanted the recipe! Ingredients
-
Hamburger - 1 lb
water to cover
1 oxo for every cup H2O
2 T Bisto
2 T cornstarch
cayenne (optional)
(I added one teaspoon each of onion powder and garlic powder, as well as some salt and pepper)
Directions
-Cook hamburger in skillet, drain fat.
-Cover hamburger meat with water (adding one oxo packet per cup water), just until meat is covered.
-Add Bisto, cornstarch and any seasonings to taste.
(And if you're new at this like me and don't want to end up with lumps of beef jelly throughout--mix the Bisto with a small amount of water before adding to the meat, and mix the cornstarch with a small amount of cold water before adding as well!)
-Fill frozen or homemade pie crust, cover with second crust, cut a couple of slits in the top and bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes.
Enjoy!
Serving Size: Makes 1 9" pie--8 slices
Number of Servings: 8
