French Bread Rolls

Introduction

Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    2 1/2 cup unbleached whole wheat white flour
    2 egg whites
    3/4 cup boiling water
    1 tblspn Fleischmann's dry Yeast
    2 packets Splenda
    1 tsp salt

Directions

Beat egg whites stiffer than stiff.
Melt margarine in boiling water.
Add yeast to 1/4 cup lukewarm water.
Mix flour, salt & splenda in separate bowl.
Add two cups dry mix to water/margarine.
Add yeast mix and stir with mixer until smooth.
Fold in egg whites.
Add remainder dry mix and blend until smooth elastic dough.
Place on floured bread board, knead, cover. Rise for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, knead again, cover let rise another hour.
Take dough and knead lightly.
Cut into desired size for rolls and leave for 10 minutes. This recipe I made 10 sandwich size rolls at 162 cal each.
Shape into rolls and let rise again for 45 - 60 mins.
Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. For crusty rolls place pan of water on lowest rack in oven.
