Low Carb Swiss Steak

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 lbs cubed steak
    1-15 oz can Contadina tomato sauce
    2 cups water
    1 large onion, sliced lengthwise
    1 large green bell pepper, sliced lenghwise
    Salt, pepper, and garlic to taste

Directions

Spray a large non stick skillet with cooking spray (or add just enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet). Brown the cubed steak on both sides. Remove from pan. Add onions and bell peppers to skillet, and saute until slightly browned. Return steak to skillet with vegetables, add tomatoe sauce, water, and seasonings.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 - 1 1/2 hour until meat is fork tender. Sauce will reduce to make a nice gravy.
This also makes a great crockpot meal. Brown meat and vegies, then add everything to the crockpot instead of putting it back in the skillet. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
