Introduction

This is a delicious, low fat version of homemade chocolate cake with very few ingredients. You can add frosting or it's great without! This is a delicious, low fat version of homemade chocolate cake with very few ingredients. You can add frosting or it's great without!
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    3 cups sifted flour
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    1/3 cup cocoa
    1 cup mayonnaise-type salad dressing (I use low-fat)
    1 1/2 cups water
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

Sift together the first 5 ingredients. Stir the salad dressing into the dry ingredients. Gradually add the water and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Pour into two greased and floured 9 inch layer cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
