Introduction

I work midnight shift and to eat healthy takes pre-planning. I cook this up, and measure out in 8 ounce containers. I get 7 to 8 breakfasts out of this one. Ingredients

    6 cups boiling water
    3 cups Montana Wheat 7 grain cereal
    1/2 cup Craisins
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/4 raw coconut
    1/2 cup sliced almonds
    1/4 cup sunflower seeds
    3 tbsp honey
    16oz plain Greek yogurt
    2 tbsp ground flax seed
    7 to 8 8oz containers
    splash of skim or almond milk to serve

Directions

Bring to boil in a large pot 6 cups tap water. Add cereal, fruit, nuts, seeds and coconut. simmer for 25 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand with cover on for 1/2 hour. Or use my favorite method; Start with cool water and cook in rice cooker on white rice setting. Let stand 1/2 hour to cool. Then stir in honey and a 16oz tub of Greek yogurt. Using a 1 cup measure, divide among 8 containers. Sprinkle ground flax seeds on top and seal. Keep in fridge. To serve, turn out in bowl or eat from container with a splash of skim or almond mik.
