Introduction

A light alternative to other snack foods. The tahini paste used in hummus is a great source of calcium and helps to lower blood pressure and protect the liver. Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1c. hummus
    4 lrg. whole wheat pitas
    7 oz. of rosted red peppers chopped
    1/2 c. chopped scallions
    18 Kalamata Olives, pitted and quartered

Directions

Toast or grill whole pitas.

Spread 1/4c. of hummus on each pita. Top each pita with peppers, scallions, and olives.

Cut pitas in to 4 or 8 slices with a pizza cutter.

Serves 16

Serving = 1/4 slice of pita or two 1/8 slices of pizza
