IntroductionMushrooms stuffed with veggies and bacon Mushrooms stuffed with veggies and bacon
2 Tbsp Margarine melted
1/4 tsp Thyme ground
2 Tbsp chopped Green pepper
12 Large button mushrooms with stems removed
Stems from mushrooms chopped and set aside
2 Tbsp onion chopped
3/4 C. Bread Crumbs italian season flavor
2 Tbsp of bacon bits
3 oz of Provolone cheese slices divided into 12 pcs.
Remove stems from mushrooms, set caps aside and chop stems. Chop onions and peppers.
Melt 1 tbsp of margarine in skillet over medium heat. Saute mushroom stems, onions, and green peppers until tender. Put in a bowl and mix in bacon bits, bread crumbs, and thyme. Mix well!
Spoon the mixture into the mushroom caps and place in a shallow dish.
Melt remaining margarine and drizzle over mushrooms. Top each mushroom with a piece of the cheese slices.
Bake for 15 minutes and serve hot. Serves 12 as an appetizer or 6 as a side item.
