Ham, Peas and Pasta

Introduction

This is my kids' favorite dish. This is my kids' favorite dish.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 Tbls. butter
    1/4 cup flour
    2 cups milk
    1 pound pasta
    2 cups cooked lean ham, diced
    1 1/2 cups frozen peas
    3 oz. Romano cheese (or to taste)

Directions

Melt butter in frying pan over med. heat. . Add flour; blend until mixed. Slowly add milk, stirring to blend ingredients together. Stir often, allowing mixture to thicken. Grate Romano cheese into sauce once the mixture has thickened. Meanwhile, cook pasta in boiling, salted water according to package directions. (We like spaghetti or Linguine.) During last minute of cooking time, add peas and ham to pasta water to heat. Drain pasta, peas and ham. Pour sauce over pasta mixture. Serve immediately.
