Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    4 bonless, skinless chicken breast
    1 cup salsa
    1 package reduced sodium taco seasoning
    1 can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream

Directions

Add Chicken to slow cooker
Sprinkle with taco seasoning over chicken
pour salsa and soup over chicken
cook on low 6-8 hrs
remove from heat & stir in sour cream

    This chicken is amazing!! I have made it a few times, and I am obsessed! Everybody has tried it also loved it...Last time I made it in the oven, baking it for about 2 hours @ 350. - 12/9/07

    This was a good dish. I shredded the chicken. Add a can of black beans, 1 can of corn kernals, and 1 can of green chiles. We had it on tortilla shells. I also forgot the sour cream, I think it would have been a very nice touch.

    I will likely make this or some rendition of it again. Thank y - 1/29/10

    This recipe was great and very easy!! A little too salty for me though. Next time will only use half a package of taco seasoning. To follow the calories listed I broke up the chicken servings came out to about 3/4 cup of the mixture. - 1/18/09

    This dish was SO simple and SO delicious-- I just can't get over it! I listened so some of the reviews on here & only used half a packet of taco seasoning(HOT--gave it a nice kick)! Instead of using cream of mushroom soup I did cream of celery.I also added some frozen corn when it was almost done! - 8/31/10

    I let the chicken go in the slow cooker for like 6 hours on low with chicken broth. Then emptied the liquid, shredded the chicken, and added the rest of the ingredients for 2 hours. Served on hard taco shells, YUM! :) - 4/23/11

    This is so easy to make tastes wonderful! I used only half package of taco seasoning and since I have a newer slow cooker, I will probably cook on low only 4 to 5 hours in future. - 10/25/10

    This is simple and very versatile. You can use it as is, as a filling for burritos, or as a topping for nachos or baked potatoes. I substitute reduced fat and sodium cream of chicken soup. - 10/13/10

    When I walked in the door from work last night, the whole house smelled wonderful. I added fresh sliced mushrooms at the end (because they were in the fridge and needed to go in something). I served it on brown rice. It was easy and EXCELLENT. I'm making this again soon. - 5/21/09

  • Tried for first time. Not too bad. (DELAINE08) I only used 1/2 a bag of taco seasoning and it was more than enough. Cut up some potato's and added in. Will add different things like veggies maybe next time. - 8/14/13

  • This was excellent. I used FF Sour Cream and added chopped Serrano Peppers and corn. Used a little of the Taco Seasoning, Have made it twice and it freezes well. - 10/8/12

  • Yummy! I added in pinto beans and corn and cooked for 6 hours. I shredded the chicken afterwards and served it all on brown rice with some shredded cheese. I also omitted the sour cream because I didn't have any. I froze the leftovers so hopefully they will turn out just as good. - 10/14/11

  • Since finding this recipe a year or two ago this is a staple in my house. Very easy to vary ingredients, like sometimes I use rotel instead of salsa, add some corn and a can of black beans...any way I do it it is always fantastic!! - 11/28/10
