Ingredients

    *Bird's Custard Powder, 3 TBS
    Granulated Sugar, 3 TBS
*Skim Milk Powder, Carnation, 4 TBS
    Milk, 1%, 2.5 cup

    Granulated Sugar, 2 tsp
    *Flour, white, 1.25 cup
    *Shortening, Crisco, 8 tbsp
    Water, tap, .5 cup

    Strawberries, fresh, 2 pints sliced
    1 TBS sugar
Clear glaze made from a packet (more water or juice than they say to thin it a bit more....I used 1 1/3 cup rather than 1)

Directions

Make the custard by mixing the dry ingred togehter and adding the milk. Cook until thickened. Let cool, stirring often as it cools.

Make pie crust and fit in 9 or 10 inch pie plate. Bake at 400 until golden. Let cool completely.

Clean and slice strawberries (mushroom slicer works great for this if you have one) and sprinkle with 1 TBS sugar and let set. Drain strawberries and reserve the juice.

Put cooled custard in baked pie shell. Add drained sliced strawberries on top. Make a glaze using water and the reserved juice with the glaze packet. Spoon over the strawberries. Serve with a bit of whipped cream to top.
