5 Links mild Italian sausage or 3/4 lb fresh Italian sausage
1 lb ground beef 85/15% lean
1 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
1/2 cup 2% milk
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp coarse salt
1 tsp black pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil. Combine sausage and ground beef in large mixing bowl. Mix well. Mix cereal, milk, and seasonings in separate bowl to soften. Add to meat and mix together till incorporated. Using 2 oz scoop or scale, measure out and round off 20 meatballs. Bake on foil lined cookie sheet for 25 minutes then add to tomato sauce and let simmer for additional 20 minutes or until tender.
* If not serving with pasta sauce, cook in oven for full 45 minutes or until browned and cooked to internal temperature of 165 degrees.
*If not serving immediately, cool meatballs then wrap and place in freezer for up to 6 weeks.
*Also works well with leaner ground beef and lowfat milk.
