Broccoli and Cheese Calzones

Introduction

Makes 6 filling calzones. Dip into fav pizza sauce. Makes 6 filling calzones. Dip into fav pizza sauce.

Ingredients

    Crust:
    Kroger Bread Dough Ready to Bake Loaf
    (opt) Egg substitute, liquid, less than 1 tbsp
    (opt) Parmesan Cheese, shredded, less than 1 tbsp


    Filling:
    Ricotta, Fat Free, 1.75 cup
    Broccoli, fresh, 3 cup, chopped
    Parmesan Cheese, shredded, 0.25 cup
    Garlic powder, 1 tsp
    Basil, dried, 1 tsp
    Egg substitute, liquid, 0.25 cup

Directions

Thaw bread loaf in fridge overnight (or at least 8 hours).

On a floured surface, cut loaf into 6 equal pieces. Roll into 7 inch circles. Place each circle onto greased cookie sheet.

Chop broccoli into small pieces. In a large bowl, mix broccoli with cheeses, spices, and egg substitute. Place filling onto half of each circle, folding over dough to form each calzone. Seal using fork. Optional: Brush sealed calzones with additional egg substitute to make crust shiny. Sprinkle additional parmesean cheese on top.

Bake in oven for 30-35 mins.

Dip into favorite pizza sauce.

Serving Size: 6 calzones Each calzone contains just under 300 calories!
