Baking Powder Buscuits

Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    2/3 c. shortening
    3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
    5 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1 1/2 c. milk

Directions

preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients. Cut shortening into dry ingredients until well blended. Add milk. Stir until soft dough forms. Place dough onto lightly floured surface. Pat dough till about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick. Cut with a 2 1/2 inch cutter. Place on cookie sheet and bake 15-20 minutes or until slightly browned on top.

Serving Size: makes 20, 2 1/2" buscuits
