Introduction

I wanted to make burgers tonight, but I didn't want the oversized patties (I'm working on portion control) or the stack of calories, so I whipped these together. Both my husband and teenager agreed that, as far as home-made burgers go, they were the best they had tasted! Number of Servings: 15

Ingredients

    500g (approx 1 lb) extra lean ground sirloin
    1.5 cups grated carrots
    1 large egg
    2 slices toasted whole wheat bread, crumbled
    1 cup mushrooms, chopped small
    1 onion, chopped small
    1 Tbsp yellow mustard
    1 Tbsp ketchup
    2 Tbsp mott's clamato juice, extra spicy
    3 cloves garlic, minced

Directions

Add all ingredients to a large bowl and mix well. Preheat BBQ to a medium heat, and using grilling plate cook patties for 15 minutes, flipping once.

Serving Size: makes 15 palm-sized patties
