No Bake Breakfast Granola Bars

Introduction

This goes together very quickly for a quick breakfast option or snack. Kid-friendly, a bonus. This goes together very quickly for a quick breakfast option or snack. Kid-friendly, a bonus.
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    2 1/2 cups rice crispies cereal
    2 cups quick cooking oats
    1/4 c. Ground flaxseed
    1/4 c. sweetened coconut flakes
    1/2 cup craisins, or any other dried fruit...cherries are really good
    1/3 cup slivered almonds or any other nut you may prefer
    2/3 cup honey
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    2/3 cup peanut butter (i use creamy, chunky would work too)
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    1/4 tsp salt...i adjust to taste, is better with salt though
    Cinnamon to taste


Directions

Combine dry ingred. together in lrg. bowl. In sauce pan over medium heat...combine
2/3 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
Heat until well combined but DO NOT boil.....remove from heat and add....
2/3 cup peanut butter (i use creamy, chunky would work too)
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 tsp salt...i adjust to taste, is better with salt though
Cinnamon to taste

Pour mixture over dry ingredients and mix well..pat in greased 9x13 pan..cool in frig for about
5-10 minutes and then cut into individual bars. Keep at room temp in air tight container....very yummy, stays soft. Like an adult rice crispy bar.
