Turnip Green Soup

Introduction

Adaptation of a recipe given to me by a friend. I opted out of the Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix and left out the additional salt and cut the recipe in nearly half. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    16 oz. chopped, frozen Turnip Greens
    8 oz smoked sausage
    1 can Ranch Style Beans
    1 Tbsp Dehydrated Bell Pepper Flakes
    1 Tbsp Dehydrated Onion Flakes
    1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
    1/2 tsp Zatarain's (or other) Creole Seasoning
    6 cups water
    hot sauce

Directions

Slice sausage thinly then place all ingredients except hot sauce into a 4-6 quart dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 30 minutes. Season in bowl with hot sauce to taste. Makes approximately 8 servings.
