Granola

Submitted by: EWAYLAND

Introduction

A sweet and healthy granola that is a great base recipe. Try adding pecans or other nuts, raisins or other dried fruit, or even coconut or sunflower seeds! I like to add something different to each bowl. A sweet and healthy granola that is a great base recipe. Ingredients

    4 cups quick cook oats
    1 cup wheat germ
2 tbsp cinnamon (or less, to taste)
    1/2 cup honey
    1/2 cup light olive oil
    1/3 cup water

Directions

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Make a well in the middle of the bowl and add wet ingredients. Fold together with a spatula until thoroughly mixed.

Spread out on a large cookie sheet. Bake for 40 minutes, taking out about every 10 minutes to stir. This ensures that the granola around the edge doesn't get burned. Oven temps vary, so you may not need the full 40 minutes. The oats will get crunchy and turn a darker shade of brown.

If adding nuts, wait till the last 10 minutes of cook time, or just add after cooking.

Let cool before storing in an airtight container.
