Salsa

Submitted by: HUSKERFAN4EVER

Introduction

So much better than store bought salsas!! You can control the heat by using fewer jalapenos. The cilantro adds a nice touch, but isn't necessary. So much better than store bought salsas!! You can control the heat by using fewer jalapenos. The cilantro adds a nice touch, but isn't necessary.
Number of Servings: 14

Ingredients

28 oz can of whole tomatoes
    3-5 jalapenos
    onion salt
    fresh cilantro (optional)

Directions

Roast the jalapenos under the broiler turning them as they darken. When they are nicely roasted on all sides, place them in a plastic bag to cool. This makes them easier to peel. Add the peeled jalapenos, the tomatoes, onion salt--a few shakes--whatever you like, along with the cilantro in a blender. Puree until everything is mixed together. Stores in the fridge for several days.

Serving Size: makes several servings
