Introduction

Beef and Broccoli Beef and Broccoli
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    4 oz of beef, sliced thin
    1 cup of broccoli flourets
    1/2 cup of onion bite size chopped
    1/2 cup of green pepper bite size chopped
    1 tbsp of hoisin sauce
    2 garlic cloves
    1 tsp of corn starch
    1/2 oz of toasted sesame seeds as garnish

Directions

Prepare beef by slicing it thin with a sharp knife. Add hoisin sauce and garlic to beef and let sit. Cut broccoli into flourets (bite size), onion and green peppers chop into bite size pieces.

On a high heat saute your beef for 1 minute adding minced hot peppers, onions, peppers and broccoli and still on high stir all together.

The beef bowl you set aside will still have remnants of the hoisin sauce in it, add 1/4 cup of of water and 1 tsp of corn starch to the bowl and stir it around getting off all the remainder hoisin sauce. Pour starch slurry over beef and vegetables and stir quickly. The starch will thicken the liquid slightly and helps coat the beef and veggies. Add the chopped cilantro at the end and plate. I like to use a bowl, but you can also use a plate if you wish. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top.

Hint: I am not a sauce person so what I like to do is dish out the veggies and beef into my bowl, then spoon whatever amount of sauce I prefer just to coat the ingredients.
