Lentil & Bean Soup

Introduction

a thick warming soup with small bits to chew on! a thick warming soup with small bits to chew on!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    315g Yellow lentils
    120g Berloti Beans (drained)
    270g Chick peas (drained)
    230g Aduki Beans (drained)
    10g Marmite / vegemite
    teaspn of mixed herbs
    water - over a pint (enough when mashed to form a decent soup!)
    teapn cumin

    chilli powder or curry powder if you want a spicy taste

Directions

put the lentils in to soak overnight unless they are already soaked.

put all ingredients into a pot and bring up to a simmer - leave it for about 30 mins adding water as needed.
Mash the ingredients - or use a hand blender for a more refined soup.
It is a mild soup with only a little taste - ideal for those who "think they don't like beans!"

Add curry powder or chilli powder for a spicy soup

1 serving is 240g
