6 cups fresh tomato, diced
8 oz Carolina ground turkey
8 oz 93% lean ground beef
2 cup diced onion
1-1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1-1/2 cup diced zucchini
2 c chopped yellow/crookneck squash
16 oz fresh sliced mushrooms
1-6 oz can Hunts No Salt Added tomato paste
2 cup burgundy wine
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1/2 Tbsp cracked black pepper (or to taste)
1 Tbsp oregano
1/2 Tbsp dried basil
1 Tbsp dry Italian Seasoning
Stir, add burgundy wine. Cook on low additional 1-2 hours.
Makes about 3 quarts. Serving size about 2 cups.
Serve over hot noodles or rice.
*Can also be cooked for an hour in pan or in oven on 350* for about 2 hours. The longer it cookes, the more flavorful it will be. IF YOU COOK IN THE OVEN, stir and check heat. Spray whatever you cook this in with non-stick - including the lid ;)
I cooked it on low for 18 hours this last time and Mmm! SO GOOD!
