Submitted by: CDGOLDILOCKS

Introduction

a lowfat alternative for that sweet tooth.

I got this recipe from Greenlitebites.com and simply added chocolate chips and omitted the ground cloves in the original recipe. The blogger of the website, Roni Noone, also has a website called ronisweigh. Check them out.

Ingredients

    15 oz canned pumpkin
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/3 cup natural applesauce
    1 tsp vanilla
3 cups of old fashioned oats
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp ginger
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Directions

Place the brown sugar, applesauce, vanilla, flour in one bowl.

Place oats, other ingredients in a separate bowl. Mix or sift well. Add canned pumpkin. I only had pumpkin pie filling on hand, so my nutritional info reflects that.

Combine the bowl with the oats into the other bowl of ingredients. Mix until ingredients blended. Add 1/4 cup chocolate chips.

I used a 1tbsp measuring spoon to get my cookie sizes.

Serving Size: makes about 44 measuring tablespoon sized cookies.

Number of Servings: 44
