Submitted by: MAYFIELD0801Introduction
Right now not to healthy but needed to put it on here so I could get help in making it healthier. PLEASE HELP. This was made from the box version. I loved the box one from Old El Paso but I wanted to make from scratch so here is my version. It is also made to feed a large family with leftovers. Ingredients
-
5 lbs hamburger
2 large cans Refried beans
5 pkgs taco seasoning mix
colby jack shredded cheese
32 flour tortillas
Directions
Cook hamburger til done (adding any spices you may like to use). Drain and add taco seasoning mix cook as directed.
Heat up refried beans so they are easier to spread.
In a large baking pan( I used my two large roasters I bought to make turkeys in) layer 6 of the torillas in the bottom overlapping to make them fit. Spread 1/6 of the beans over the top, spread 1/4 of the taco meat over the beans, then 1/6 or less of the cheese. Repeat this one more time, then layer 6 tortillas 1/6 beans and then 1/6 or more of cheese.
Repeat this in a second pan. Each pan will have 3 layers of the taco bake.
Place in a 375 degree oven for about 15 minutes, just to warm everything up and melt the cheese.
Cut in half long ways then cut 6 times the short way.
Add lettuce, salsa, or sour cream to your liking (these are not added to the nutritional value.
