Cream Puffs

I've never tried these, but Mom made them all the time and they were fabulous

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1/2 cup shortening
    1 cup water
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    4 eggs

Directions

Bring shortening and water to boil in a saucepan.

Stir in sifted flour and salt quickly. Beat constantly until mixture leaves sides and forms a ball (one minute).

Remove from heat and cool.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth after each addition.

Drop spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet

Bake at 400 deg for 45-50 minutes

Cool and fill with sweetened whipped cream, custard, ice cream or sweetened fruit
