Taco Salad Base

Introduction

Excellent base for taco salad or Mexican-style dip. Excellent base for taco salad or Mexican-style dip.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 lb ground beef, lean
    1 packet taco seasoning
    8-oz light cream cheese, softened
    8-oz mild taco sauce
    1 cup cheddar cheese

Directions

Serving Size: 6 servings

Brown beef and drain well. Mix in taco seasoning (do not add any water). Spread cream cheese into the bottom of a baking dish. Top with the beef mixture. Pour taco sauce evenly over the beef mixture and top with cheddar. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Serve over shredded iceberg lettuce with a dollop of light sour cream (calories not included). Add a kick to the recipe by using hotter taco sauce or sprinkling on Tabasco to your liking.
