Introduction

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1/2 tbsp olive oil
    1/2 onion, diced
    1 tbsp chili powder
    3/4 cup dry lentils
    8 oz diced tomatoes (no salt added)
    4 oz tomato sauce
    2 tbsp chili sauce
    1 tbsp hot sauce
    2 cups water
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp mustard
    2 tsp brown sugar (can use substitute)
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions

1. In skillet, saute olive oil, onion, and chili powder until translucent.
2. In crockpot, add onion mixture and remaining ingredients. Stir well.
3. Cook on low for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally. If mixture ever seems to dry, a tbsp of water at a time can be added until desired consistency (is not supposed to be soup-like, but "sloppy")
4. Cool slightly before serving as is or with bread/buns - Enjoy!
