IntroductionThis is such a yummy dessert that it really deserves to have more calories and fat! LOL This is such a yummy dessert that it really deserves to have more calories and fat! LOL
4 medium apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (use firm apples - I use Granny Smith)
1/2 cup UNpacked brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. uncooked old-fashioned oats
3 tbsp. light margarine
Stir together apples, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Pour into a 1-1/2 quart baking dish.
Cut flour, oatmeal, remaining brown sugar and margarine together with a pastry blender or fork in a medium bowl. Sprinkle over apple mixture.
Bake until apples are tender and top is browned, about 45 minutes.
Yields 8 ea. 1/2 cup servings.
**Note: If you want a bigger batch, you can triple the recipe and bake it in a 9" x 13" pan. The serving size would still be 1/2 cup.
