Barley pilaf

Ingredients

    Barley, pearled, raw, .5 cup
    Peas, frozen, 0.5 cup
    Carrots, raw, .5 cup, chopped
    Onions, raw, .5 cup, chopped
    Green Peppers (bell peppers), 0.5 cup, chopped
    Celery, raw, .5 cup, diced
    Butter, unsalted, 2 tbsp
    Apples, fresh, 1 small (2-1/2" dia)
    water 1/2 cup
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Place all ingredients to hot pan, cook over medium heat for about 20-30 minutes, until barley is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
