Muffins That Taste Like Donuts

Introduction

A great breakfast of midday treat. I like to use cinnamon chips instead of chocolate to mix it up. You can also emit the chips and put jam in the middle.

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/3 cup canola oil
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 cup skim millk

    1 tbsp butter or substitute (for brushing warm muffins)
    pinch sugar and cinnamon mixed together (for sprinkling)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees ferenheit.
In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon. In another bowl combine oil, sugar, egg and milk.
Add liquid ingredients to dry, stir thoroughly.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 mins until brown.
Shake out and brush with butter or butter substitute then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar if desired.
Enjoy!
