Cabbage and Carrot Saute

Introduction

Shredded cabbage, carrots and onions sauted in olive oil, with a hint of soy sauce and creole seasoning. Shredded cabbage, carrots and onions sauted in olive oil, with a hint of soy sauce and creole seasoning.

Ingredients

    1 medium head green cabbage, shredded
    5 small carrots, peeled and shaved into strips with vegetable peeler
    1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
    2 T olive oil
    2 T canola oil
    garic powder, to taste
    onion powder, to taste
    black pepper, to taste
    Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning, to taste
    soy sauce, to taste


Directions

Heat olive oil and canola oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute carrots in oil for 3 minutes. Add onions to skillet and saute for 5 minutes. Add cabbage to skillet and cook until it wilts slightly. Stir cabbage and carrot-onion mixture to mix. Add seasonings to taste and stir again. Cook cabbage for 30 minutes or to desired crispness. Adjust seasonings and serve.

Serving Size: Makes about 8 1-cup servings.
